PRIME INSURANCE, WHERE EVERY DAY IS A PRIME DAY, HIGHLIGHTS THIS INTERESTING CASE…
There is a 49-year-old medically-retired police officer who collects workers compensation benefits for an injury she suffered in 1995 during a training exercise with an Arizona police department. In the 19 years since her injury, she has reportedly competed in 29 races, including 10 triathons. Most recently, she finished the grueling Ironman Arizona in just 14 hours; an impressive time, especially for someone whose injuries prevent her from meeting even the minimum duties of a police officer. What’s more, she applied for workers comp two years after her medical retirement, for the injury sustained in 1995. Her claim was approved and she now receives both medical retirement benefits and workers compensation. Talk about a multi-sport athlete!
